The 3-Day gorilla trekking safari in Uganda’s Bwindi Forest takes you through a thrilling mountain gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This package allows you to explore Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Southwestern Uganda while on this short Uganda gorilla trekking tour.

This park sits in an area of 331sq. km and protects an estimated 120 mammal species. These include over 459 mountain gorillas, elephants, antelopes, baboons, and an estimated 360 bird species. Your 3-Day gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi will begin and end in Kigali.

Brief 3-Day Gorilla Trekking Safari Uganda

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will be picked up from Kigali International Airport and embark on a scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

You will cross over to Uganda at the Katuna or Chanika border, with a stop at Kabale town (when you cross from the Katuna border) or Kisoro (when you cross from the Chanika border) before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

You will arrive at your chosen lodge in the late afternoon. Check in and settle into your room. Enjoy dinner at the lodge, and take some time to relax and prepare for your gorilla-tracking adventure the next day.

Day 2: Embark On a Gorilla Trek Adventure in Bwindi

After early morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park guides. Thereafter head to the jungle for mountain gorilla trekking that starts at 8:00 am. Head to the forest for a trek that lasts about 2 to 6 hours or more depending on where the mountain gorillas have spent their night. After meeting with the gorillas, you spend a maximum of 1 hour in the presence of the gorillas.

After an encounter with the giant gorillas, you trek back to the start point. Remember to carry some drinking water and snacks or foods to keep you energized. Receive a congratulatory certificate at the park headquarters and then transfer to the hotel or lodge for check-out.

Day 3: Return to Kigali

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali International Airport for your flight.
