Day 1: Arrival at the Kigali International Airport

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be meet with a warm welcome by our company representative. Exchange some money in local currency then drive to the hotel for an overnight stay. Your professional guide driver will be at the airport ahead of time waiting for you.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Nyungwe National Park, the home of chimpanzees. The journey south oust passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape. Later proceed with tea plantation experiences and coffee factory at Kopakiki Cooperative. Visit and enjoy the property amenities.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walking in Nyungwe

On this day, you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of chimpanzee communities. The Rwandan chimpanzee population is thought to consist of approximately 400-500 individuals, confined to the Nyungwe National Park, including a small community in the Cyamudongo Forest. Prepare to hear these excitable primates before you see them, as their pant-hoots travel through the deep forest. During your hike, you may also spot migratory birdlife including the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow, hawk and regal sunbird. Later proceed with a canopy walk in the park. You will head back to the hotel for dinner and overstay night.

Day 4: Road Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival, you will visit Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to learn about the locals culture. You will then spend your time at leisure enjoying property amenities at the lodge.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes and Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

On this special day, you will have the rare opportunity to observe the famous golden monkeys. You will depart for golden monkeys trekking to observe the famous Rwandan monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park. Spend an hour with them, and be back at the base in time for lunch. After lunch, you will drive to Bwindi Forest via Kyanika border post.

Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community in Bwindi Forest

Today is the big day! Prepare yourself for an encounter with the gentle giants; the rare mountain gorillas. For most people, this is the absolute highlight of their tour. You will go into the forest in groups of not more than 8 in search of mountain gorillas. En route, your guide will point out previous signs of gorilla activity such as dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots. Your trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes, and bamboo. Upon finding the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them after which you will be led back to the starting point. In the evening, you will go for a community visit and cultural experience of the local Batwa tribes that live close to Bwindi. You will learn about their lives, history, and traditions.

Day 7: Road Transfer Back to Kigali Airport

Today marks the last day of your 7-day Rwanda Uganda Safari Experience. We will drive the same route from Bwindi to Kigali, via Kyanika (approx. 5hrs). Finally, you will reach Kigali and your driver will drop you off at the airport for your departure. This will mark the completion of your safari.
