8-Day Uganda Wildlife Safari Highlights

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our 8-Day Uganda Wildlife Safari driver/guide who will drive you to your accommodation for the night.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, start off toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you will make a stop at the equator for the experience of standing with one foot on either side of the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. Continuing on, you will have lunch in the town of Mbarara. Enjoy the views from the lodge and relax in the evening.

Day 3: Game drive, Lion Tracking and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early for a game drive in the Kasenyi part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you have the chance to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of birds and more. You will also take part in a lion-tracking experience, accompanied by trained trackers who will help you follow and observe lions in their natural habitat.

After lunch, your guide will take you on the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This two-hour boat ride is a great highlight where you can look for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Day 4: Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Head off to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning. The drive goes along an adventurous road and you have the chance of seeing baboons and elephants along the way. In Ishasha you can find topis and buffaloes, and search for the tree-climbing lions. The lions in this area are famous for climbing up great fig trees to take a rest.

After finishing your game drive, the 8-Day Uganda Wildlife Safari journey goes on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy the changing landscape as the car slowly climbs up toward the misty mountains of the gorillas.

  • Activities: Enjoy Scenic Morning Game Drive through Ishasha Sector to track tree-climbing lions and proceed to Bwindi Forest National Park.

Day 5: Enjoy Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You have now reached the highlight of this “Discover Uganda” safari – the gorilla trekking day. Your guide will take you to the starting point of the gorilla trekking in the morning and you set off for your adventure. The trek takes you through the jungle up to the point where the gorillas are, you get to spend one hour with them.

After the gorilla trekking experience, you’ll return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy a well-deserved lunch. In the late afternoon, you will visit the Batwa community for a unique cultural experience.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you start off with your Safari toward Lake Mburo National Park. A landscape of rolling green hills will pass by the windows. You will reach the town of Mbarara for lunch and then continue to the lodge in Lake Mburo National Park. Before you check in at the lodge, you will spot some animals like zebras, impalas and Ankole long-horned cattle.

Day 7: Safari walk and game drive

Start the day early with a Safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park. Experience being one with nature as you see the animals at close range during the walk. Have breakfast at the lodge and relax a bit before lunch. After lunch, it is time for your game drive in the park where you can see impalas and zebras. Return to the lodge to enjoy your last evening in Uganda’s national parks on this “Discover Uganda” safari.

Day 8: Transfer to Kampala

Have a relaxed breakfast and then start the 8-Day Uganda Wildlife Safari journey back to Kampala. Make a stop along the way for lunch at the Equator and take the chance to stand with one foot on either side of the Southern or Northern Hemispheres. Your guide will drop you off at Entebbe Airport.
