8-Day Uganda Safari to Gorilla Trekking and Chimpanzee Trekking Experience

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our Jackal Adventures guide will meet you. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe and have a well-earned rest after your flight.

After breakfast, depart for Kibale National Park. Drive through Mityana and the Kyejonjo district, reaching the beautiful town of Fort. Lunch en route or at your lodge.

After check-in, head out to visit Bigodi Swamp, a pristine rainforest area rich with monkeys, birds, and possibly forest elephants. (Optional, US$40 per person donation to support the Bigodi community.)

Start early for chimpanzee tracking (2–3 hours, depending on group location). After the trek, return to your lodge for a relaxing afternoon or enjoy an optional guided forest walk to see more primates and birds.

Depart Kibale and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a vast reserve where wildlife and people coexist in harmony.

Upon arrival and lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The channel hosts over 300 hippos.

Then head out for an evening game drive in the northern sector.

Full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park devoted to lion tracking. Spend the morning on game drives across the Kasenyi Plains and Mweya Peninsula, tracking prides on the open savannah. Return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon of relaxation or an additional game drive.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth. Famous for its resident tree-climbing lions, which are sometimes spotted draped over the branches of huge fig trees.

After the Ishasha game drive, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Upon arrival at your lodge for lunch, then embark on a community walk to visit the Batwa, an indigenous forest-dwelling people. Enjoy their traditional dances and drama.

After breakfast, head to the park offices with your guide for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Then venture into the misty rainforest to track the gentle giants. Trekking takes 2–6 hours depending on gorilla location.

Pack carefully: enough water, sturdy shoes, a non-flash camera, and rain jackets.

Return to your lodge for a well-deserved shower, lunch, and a relaxing afternoon at leisure.

After an early breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive across the border to Kigali, Rwanda. Depending on your flight time, enjoy a Kigali city tour (including the Genocide Memorial, subject to time) before being dropped at Kigali International Airport (KGL) for your departure.
