Detailed 9-Day Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi City

After an early arrival at the airport, you will get a very warm welcome from our professional driver-guide. We will then have a first tour briefing before we drive to your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Masai Mara

You will commence your 8-Day Unforgettable Kenya Game Drive Safari with an early morning drive to the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve and a Masai Village visit.

This extraordinary reserve serves as one of the last remaining places on Earth where wildlife thrives undisturbed, in the same abundance as it once did across the plains and forests of Africa. Situated at the northern tip of the expansive Serengeti ecosystem, the Masai Mara is home to the awe-inspiring seasonal migration of countless wildebeest, zebras, and the predators that accompany them.

Day 3: Full Day Adventure in Masai Mara National Reserve

Following breakfast, you will embark on a thrilling full-day game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve, ensuring that you are equipped with a packed lunch for the journey. The reserve is renowned for its impressive black-maned lions, which stand as an iconic symbol of the area. You can encounter the famous Big Five during a single morning’s game drive. The cheetahs in the reserve have grown accustomed to human presence and often seek refuge from the scorching sun beneath vehicles.

Day 4: Transfer Back to Nairobi and Fly to Entebbe Airport

Day 5: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today, you will head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. The journey takes approximately 9 hours, offering beautiful views of Uganda’s countryside.

En route, stop in Mbarara for lunch at a local restaurant, sampling Ugandan cuisine. Continue your journey through the breathtaking landscapes of southwestern Uganda, arriving at the lodge in the evening. Settle in for dinner and rest up for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest and Batwa Cultural Village Visit

This day promises to be one of the most memorable of your trip. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. In small groups, you will set off into the dense forest to track a gorilla family. The trek can be challenging, with steep and muddy paths, but the reward is well worth the effort.

Upon finding the gorillas, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to spend an hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Watch as they play, feed, and interact, gaining insight into their daily lives. After this unforgettable encounter, return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the evening, visit the local Bakiga and Batwa communities to learn about their traditions and way of life.

Day 7: Drive to Volcanoes National Park

After having breakfast, you will be driven to Volcanoes National Park. Conclude the day with a visit to Iby’Ichwu Cultural Village, where time-honored rituals and traditions come to life in a vibrant celebration of Rwandan heritage.

Day 8: Golden Monkey Tracking

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will head out to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a golden monkey trekking experience. The trek will take you through lush forests and scenic landscapes as your experienced guides share their knowledge about the golden monkeys and the park’s diverse ecosystem. Upon finding the golden monkeys, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour observing them. Unlike the gorillas, golden monkeys are playful and quick, often engaging in hide-and-seek games, so you might have to follow them around.

Once your trek is complete, you will return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest and lunch.

Day 9: Drive to Kigali & Departure

After breakfast, start your journey to Kigali for your international flight back home. If time allows, you may have a Kigali city tour before your flight.
