This 7-Day Rwanda Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari offers a mix of wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, and breathtaking landscapes across Rwanda and Uganda, ensuring an enriching travel experience. Here’s a 7-day itinerary that takes you on an unforgettable journey from Kigali International Airport, through the beautiful landscapes of Rwanda and Uganda.
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to the Hotel for Dinner & Overnight
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be joyfully and kindly welcomed by your guide who will transfer you to your booked accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay. You will have a detailed briefing on your tour itinerary by our staff.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to the Volcanoes National Park
After a hearty breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and start on your Kigali city tour. Enjoy the beautiful view of the emerging hills and drive to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Here, over 256,000 victims of the Rwandan genocide of 1994 were laid to rest as a sign of respect to their bodies. You will then drive to the Volcanoes National Park, the home of mountain gorillas. `Have an en-route stopover to take some beautiful photos and have a great view of the rolling landscape. You will later visit Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about the history. You will relax at your lodge, enjoy the property amenities and prepare for your next day’s Golden Monkey Tracking activity. You will spend the evening at the lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes and Road Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver-guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing. You then start off your day with golden monkey trekking, in search of these primates in the jungle. Later, you will return to the lodge for lunch and then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via the Kyanika border post. The journey takes about 4-5 hours. Arriving at Bwindi in the afternoon will give you the opportunity to visit the community. You will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay preparing for the next day’s exciting activity.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest and Batwa Cultural Experience
After breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver-guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla trek. The gorilla trek can take from few to many hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest.
In the afternoon, you will head back to the lodge for lunch and after visit the batwa community for their cultural experience. After the batwa experience, you will head back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Ishasha Sector for Tree-Climbing Lion Adventure
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to Ishasha Sector. In Ishasha, we will drive off in their adventurous vast savannah area with topis and you will see the Tree-Climbing Lions before checking in at your accommodation.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking Kalinzu Forest Reserve and Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After early morning breakfast, we will drive to Kalinzu Forest to experience the chimpanzees in the forest home. If you are lucky on the trek, you might encounter other different species of monkeys in the Kalunzi forest. These include the colobus monkey, olive baboon, and red tailed monkey. You will then drive to Queen National Park for an evening game drive to see the big5. After you’ll check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Road Transfer to Kigali City for Departure
After breakfast, you will go on a scenic road transfer back to Kigali City via Kyanika Border post. En route you will stop for lunch before transferring you to Kigali International Airport for departure.
