In Bwindi, you will hike through the thick rainforest in search of the mountain gorillas. After finding the gorillas, you will spend up to one hour watching them eat, rest and play around before returning to the starting point.

Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport and Transfer to Bwindi Forest

Upon your arrival at Kigali Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our 3-Day Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest from Kigali driver/guide who will then drive you to Bwindi Forest.

Your driver/guide will then drive you to Bwindi (approx. 5 hours).

You will stop again in Kabale for lunch before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. From Kabale, you will drive to Bwindi and reach your accommodation during the evening hours. You will have time to explore the community and its surroundings for a short while.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is the big day! Prepare yourself for an encounter with the gentle giants; the rare mountain gorillas.

For most people, this is the absolute highlight of their tour. You will go into the forest in groups of not more than 8 in search of mountain gorillas. En route, your guide will point out previous signs of gorilla activity such as dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots.

Your trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes, and bamboo. Upon finding the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them after which you will be led back to the starting point.

In the evening, you will go for a community visit and cultural experience of the local Bakiga and Batwa tribes that live close to Bwindi. You will learn about their lives, history, and traditions.

Day 3: Drive from Bwindi back to Kigali International Airport

Today marks the last day of your 3-day gorilla tracking safari in Bwindi. We will drive the same route from Bwindi to Kigali, via Kabale (approx. 5hrs).

Finally, you will reach Kigali and your driver will drop you off at the airport for your departure. This will mark the completion of your safari.
